WiP show's Roundtable, RCA

WiP show's Roundtable, RCA

Description:

The theme of the research programme’s contribution to the WiP show focuses on its ‘in progress’ condition in order to make explicit the trials and processes involved in design work and research. Given that research in architecture implies the production of written or graphic documentation, the research cohort reflects upon the way the research process can be translated into printed material in a way that can be collected and shared by those attending WiP show. By thinking of our own research as a series of elements to be shared in their ‘raw’ form, each visitor can indeed collect the school's research material, made of a series of documents.

The Architecture research programmes' WiP exhibition, therefore, focuses on the notion of the document, its display, and reproduction. Each student presents his/her work through two A4 documents. Any media including objects, sounds, videos is translated into this format. The documents have been reproduced in bulk and are displayed on a table within two trays for each student. All the trays together represent the research programme’s work in its entirety.
